Judith Leyster assignment

This is my assignment about Judith Leyster. I had to write a poem, using fixed words, and make a drawing about it, in my own style. I like etching style, but unfortunately I didn't had the right colours. My poem is about Judith's fears, so you see a full moon, a howling wolf, two spiders, a bat and a little girl carefully watching the wolf. Because we had to use fixed words, it was hard to make a good poem. The result is not my best poem ever, but it was nice to do.

The poem:

I am Judith Leyster
I'm sometimes very happy, mostly a bit rare
I wonder, why I always feel so scared
I hear the hounds howling
I see the spiders crowling
I want to forget my fears,
by painting this whole dream
I am Judith Leyster

I pretend to fade away my fears, well,
I'm trying anyway
I feel desperately, waiting for the day
I touch the morning sun lights,
my fears go with every golden ray
Still I worry if my tears could ever go away
I cry for the pain that filled my heart
I am Judith Leyster

I understand that it's just my own imagination
I say it loud out in myself, it's just my own creation
I dream my first nice dream ever,
grass green, skies blue
I try to make such a dream really come true
I hope I'll never be afraid again
I am Judith Leyster
